The Ancient Love Story...Chapter 5

Next morning, the sun had risen in the blue skies. Udai was still asleep and the window on his right was allowing the sunrays to fall his impetuous face. The birds were chirping near on the tree near the balcony. The sunrays gradually moved towards Udai’s eyes and ended up breaking his sleep.
Udai got off his bed and noticed Jeevant was already up before him. She entered the room a couple of seconds later. Her dressing was simple, but still she was looking like a goddess. She had a tray in her hand with all the things in it needed for the Morning Prayer. Her jet-black hair was wet and open, with the cool breeze going back and forth.
Udai was so mesmerized with her beauty that he couldn’t stop himself and complimented her with a huge smile on his face, “You look like a goddess!” seeing Udai’s expressions made Jeevant shyly reply, “Thank you very much.”
Everything was quite a couple of second. None of them had anything to say. Both of them just adored each other. Just then, they came back to their senses and started looking around.
“Why don’t you get ready first, then we do the prayer together?” Jeevant asked in a sweet voice.
“But why would you wait for me? I will take time to get ready too.” Udai replied with innocence and curiosity.
“Because we are friends remember, and friends do everything together. Don’t worry about the time. I can wait. I’m sure you won’t even take that long.” Jeevant putting Udai’s curiosity to rest and gearing him up to get ready.
Udai was really happy to see that someone was caring for him. All these years, he had not spoken a woman since Panna Dai. He never thought that he could be so comfortable speaking to a girl. Maybe at the back if his mind he knew that she was the one.
Jeevant, in the other side, was trying to make herself comfortable in the palace of Kumbalgarh. However, not for long, because she knew that soon she had to go to Mewar and had to start gearing up for the responsibilities of a Maharani.
A few days passed and their bond strengthened. They could not stay without seeing each other’s face for a day. Their relationship had become as strong as an unbreakable bull. They slowly understood the real meaning of their relation and started moving towards a romantic angle.
While Udai was growing in his personal life, his political life was catching up with him. His half-brother, Banbir was getting restless by the minute since the day he found out that one son of Rana Sanga was alive. He had to think of something cunning, because Udai was not a kid anymore who could be assassinated easily.
Udai started to make a strategy against Banbir with his father-in-law, Akhey Raj Songara, Raj Rana Jait Singh and Rao Maldeo.
“You need to get rid of that man as soon as possible, the more he is around, the more he will be a noose around your neck.” Akhey Raj warned with raised eyebrows.
“And we can only get rid of him if we have to bring him out of Chittorgarh.” The fort being on a high hill was a huge advantage for Banbir and a challenge for Udai to reacquire his motherland.
Udai smiled.
